Deep Groove Ball Bearings


A deep groove ball bearing is used at one end of a large rotating mold for centrifugally casting pipe. It axially locates the mold and supports it radially at one end.

At the other end, a cylindrical roller bearing radially supports the mold while allowing free axial movement as the mold expands under heat, then contracts as the mold and cast pipe cool.

Cages are fully machined from Centrifugally Cast Brass alloy; i.e., stamped steel “ribbon” cages are not available. The “M” suffix for brass cage is automatically   added to the bearing number. Seals and shields generally not available. Unless otherwise specified that “Normal” bearing internal clearance is desired, all DGBs will be supplied with “C3”, slightly larger, internal clearance as shown below.
