Ball Bearings

American Ball Bearings are manufactured from the cleanest and finest commercially available AISI bearing steels. Standard tolerances are ABEC Class 1 and ISO class Normal, but can be made to tighter limits if required. Our size range for standard and special ball bearings is 200mm(7.874 in.) I.D. to  1800mm (72 in.) O.D.

This section shows  the most common types of ball bearing:  Deep Groove Ball Bearings and Angular Contact Ball Bearings.

Other types of ball bearings such as Four Point Contact, Maximum Capacity DGB and Magneto Bearings can be made on special order.

For Thrust Ball Bearings, see our Thrust Bearing Section.

For Special Size Deep Groove Ball Bearings and Double-Row Angular Contact Bearings, go to the Rolling Mill section.

A deep groove ball bearing is used at one end of a large rotating mold for centrifugally casting pipe. It axially locates the mold and supports it radially at one end.

Angular Contact Bearings are designed to carry heavier radial and thrust loads, but because of the open side of the outer race, thrust loads can only be taken in one direction
