Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Both races of a cylindrical roller bearing can be made with zero, one, two, or more flanges depending on its intended use. Sometimes, snaprings are used which function as a flange to hold a bearing together, but thiese are not capable of taking thrust. These options yield quite a few different bearig types.

The cylindrical roller bearing section of this website is divided into several groups. The first is called Domestic Style Metric Cylindrical while the second is called ISO Cylindrical.

Many bearings in these two sections have exactly the same boundary dimensions and same numerical identification number: however, differences exist in the inner race corner radii, the straight race inner race O.D., and internal clearance. As their names indicate, the Domestic Style Metric Cylindrical bearings are designed to interchange with similarly numbered bearings made by our domestic competitors and the ISO Style with our foreign competitors. For clarity, we have adopted the ISO designations N, NU, NJ, etc.

The third group in this section contains Inch Series cylindrical roller bearings, which are domestically designed and manufactured. Next, is Journal Type cylindrical roller bearings of metric and inch designs.
