Single roller assembly, double direction thrust bearings are designed to accommodate moderate thrust loads in either direction. An inner spacing sleeve with bronze bushings allows for the rotation of the plate on the sleeve when taking thrust in one direction. This action is reversed or moved to the other plate when taking thrust in the opposite direction. This action is permitted by a slight increase in the width of the inner race and outer spacing sleeves over the combined width of the rollers and thrust plates. The backing shoulders in the housing and on the shaft are determining factors in its ability to handle these thrust loads. When heavier thrust loads are encountered in one direction, the adjacent thrust plate backing should be increased proportionally. Contact us for more information about our Light Duty Thrust Bearings!
